When the line from Caulfield, to Mordialloc was opened 1881, the Highett railway station became operational. The railway’s arrival was a lukewarm moment. The Highett Post Office didn’t open until 17 November 1924.
The Highett Hall was opened on 11 September 1926 and was used for dances, balls, vaudeville performances and later as a cinema. It was never able to find a way to make a profit and continued to operate. It was bought by the Moorabbin City Council, 1966. It was then demolished to make room for the Highett Library, which opened on the 1st August 1969.
A group of Anglicans formed St Stephens Church of England in Donald Street, Highett, in 1927. This was the first church built for the local inhabitants of Highett and by 1937 there was also a Catholic church.

Every standard clean that we do is a whole house clean covering all areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge & living rooms, laundry. You can choose to include add-ons to your clean such as oven cleaning, cleaning inside the fridge, and carpet cleaning and a range of other add-ons. Feel free to leave additional notes in your account during checkout, or contacting us to provide instructions for the cleaners.
