Hampton, like Brighton started out as a place for market gardens in 1840s and 1850s. These gardens supplied fruits and vegetables to Melbourne. The area’s beaches became popular as daytrips and holiday destinations for Melbournians in the 1850s. In the 1860s, a railway line was constructed to Brighton Beach. In 1887, the railway line was extended to Sandringham, with a station servicing Picnic Point. It was called Retreat, after the Retreat Hotel at the Point. However, several landmarks in the area, including the beach, had been named Hampton, after a local market gardener Dyas Hampton, and as wealthy landowners began buying subdivided land in the area, they favored the name Hampton as it sounded more regal. The name was set when the station was renamed Hampton. The Hampton Post Office was opened on the 1st of July 1909.

At the beginning of the new century, the population grew further. War commission homes were built for WW1 veterans. Rapid development occurred in the 1930s when the market gardens were subdivided, and today Hampton is part of Melbourne’s suburban sprawl. The Hampton North Post Office was opened in 1957 near South Road.

The station, which is located on the Sandringham Line, still exists. (January 2021)”>citation needed]

The major football club in Hampton is the Hampton Rovers AFL Football Club who compete in the Victorian Amateur Football Association and SMJFL with a total of 22 teams.

How do I book a house cleaning service?

You can book a service by calling our friendly staff on 03 9088 3118 or by filling out the booking form on our website. Just enter your Postcode, add the the details of the service, select a date and time and we'll do the rest.

What will a standard cleaning service include?

Every standard clean that we do is a whole house clean covering all areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, lounge & living rooms, laundry. You can choose to include add-ons to your clean such as oven cleaning, cleaning inside the fridge, and carpet cleaning and a range of other add-ons. Feel free to leave additional notes in your account during checkout, or contacting us to provide instructions for the cleaners.

What if I only want parts of my house cleaned?

In our booking form you can select to remove rooms from the clean if you dont want them included.
If your house is 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms select this initially, then tick the Part House Cleaning Only check box. You can then choose areas of you house you want to remove from the service.

Do I need to be present during the clean?

No you don't need to be home during the service.

Some customers do like to be home for the whole clean, some prefer to meet their cleaning professional first then get them to lock up when they are done.

As long as our cleaners have clear instructions on how to gain access into your home, we will take care of the rest. Many of our customers prefer to schedule their clean during the workday, so they can come home to a sparkling clean house.

Can I cancel anytime or is it an ongoing contract?

There are no lock in contracts with Sparkle and Shine. You are free to cancel or reschedule whenever you want so long as its not within 48 hours of a booking.

Last minute cancellations and reschedules cause our cleaning professionals to lose valuable work hours. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so at least 48 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fees.
