Sparkle and Shine's Action Plan

4th August Update - Stage 4 Lockdown

We have received clarification from Business Victoria about which services can continue during lockdown. The good news is a number of customers can still receive their services.

All Customers Receiving Welfare Support

All customers who are reciving payments from institutions such as NDIS, TAC or equivalent are permitted to continue. Please feel free to email us to confirm you fall in to this category.

All Customers who cannot clean for themselves

We have been advised that cleaning for individuals can only continue if the individual cannot clean for themselves, due to the health and saftety implications of living in an unclean environment. Not being able to clean for yourselves is a little ambiguous, so we are asking everyone to please self-assess your situation and only elect to continue your cleans if you genuinely believe you are unable to perform your own cleaning. Please be reasonable and do not request a cleaner because you do not want to clean, only if your circumstances make it unreasonable/impossible for you to do so.

If you genuinely believe you cannot provide your own cleaning, please contact us to discuss your needs with our staff.

Commercial Cleans

All cleaning services for commercial buildings will continue as normal.

Move Out and Move In Cleans

Move out services will continue. It has been stated that cleaning services required to allow other essential businesses to continue are permitted. As move out or end of lease cleans are required to ensure the real estate industry continues, they are permitted.

For move in cleans, we will allow these cleans only if they are 1) Required by a real estate agent or 2) The customer falls in to the category of not being able to do the clean themselves as per the section above and will be required to fill in the online form.

Cleans that must be postponed

Any service that you can realistically do yourself must be postponed for the next 6 weeks. If you fall in to this category and are able to do your own cleaning, please do not worry about getting in touch, we will postpone your cleans and automatically resume them after Thursday 17th September.

If you would not like your service to be automatically re-instated after the lock-down, please get in touch with us by replying to this email.

If the lock-down is extended, we will automatically push your clean forward and be in touch during the process.

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions, please get in touch.

Safety measures and precautions

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak we would like to share with you the precautions we have implemented to help keep you and our cleaners safe, healthy and well.

Precautions we are asking all our cleaning teams to follow:

  • Under no circumstances will we allow any cleaner who is sick, has flu-like symptoms or who has a sick family member to come to work in your home.
  • All cleaners will exercise social distancing and follow personal exclusion rules as outlined by the Victorian and Federal government
  • All cleaners must maintain the recommended safe distance between themselves and others.
  • Cleaners will wash and sanitise their hands and will put on disposable gloves prior to entering your home.
  • Cleaners will disinfect touch points into your home prior to them accessing (gates, doorbells, door knobs)
  • Cleaners will disinfect items they touch between jobs (mop handles, vacuum handles, spray bottles)
  • Usual sanitary practices will be followed throughout cleans (not re-using cloths between houses, using different colour cloths for different parts of your house – kitchen, bathrooms, toilet, general) – cloths will be used per house and will be bagged at the end and the cleaners will ensure they are thoroughly washed and sterilised.

We will continue to provide cleaning and sanitation in your home:

The latest advice from the authorities is that due to the outer wall of Coronavirus being made up of a fatty layer (lipids) the virus is readily broken down via common household soap and detergent.

Advice is that normal soap-based products and supplies are most effective in removing the Coronavirus from your home.

We will continue cleaning your home using soap and detergent based products.
Additional disinfecting of some areas of your home will continue as usual (bathrooms, toilets etc)

What we need from you:

  • Cancel if you are sick. Please cancel your cleaning appointment if you or a family member is experiencing flu-like symptoms. We will waive all cancellation fees.
  • Cancel if you need to quarantine. Please cancel if you or anyone in your household needs to quarantine. We will waive all cancellation fees.
  • Notify us if you suspect you have been in contact with someone at risk. If you or anyone in your household may have recently been contact with someone who may be a risk factor please let us know. If it is decided to cancel all cancellation fees will be waived.
  • Keep your distance. Social distancing is important. Please try to maintain a 1-2 meter distance from our cleaners while they are in your home
  • Pause your service if necessary. We will gladly save your spot and freeze your price for up to 60 days
